'Hopi Blue Star or Blue Kachina Prophecy'

hopi prophecy, comet holmes, blue star kachina

The Hopi elders have long passed down their myths and prophecies, from generation to generation via oral tradition. Also with reference to their many ancient rock pictographs and tablets.

One such prophecy speaks of a time when: "The Blue Star Kachina makes its appearance in the heavens, the Fifth World will emerge".

This is seen as the starting time for a Great Purification. It is said that it will come when the Saquasohuh (Blue Star) Kachina dances in the plaza and removes his mask. Which likely relates to a certain ceremonial dance involving a specific religious mask, from what I understand. It is also explained as an actual solar object as well, first represented in dances and later seen in the sky by all peoples of the Earth.

They Hopi ceremonies will supposedly no longer be carried out once the "Kachina" removes his mask. This will be during a dance in the plaza that is held before uninitiated children, in all likelihood this may refer to one of the dances that is allowed to be viewed by tourists. Although for a while there will be no more ceremonies, eventually the ‘Oraibi’ will be rejuvenated with new faith and new ceremonies, marking the start of a new cycle of life.

It is also held by many of the Hopi that WWIII may be started at such a time, and that it will be initialised by the very people who first revealed the light, those in the other old countries. Likely referring to nations such as India, Persia, Egypt and China.

Although the war will be spiritual in nature the conflict will be tested via the material as well. Material things will be destroyed by spiritual beings, some of whom will remain to create a one world, one nation under one power, that of the Great Spirit (i.e. Compassionate environmentally balanced governance).

The time for all this is considered now by the elders to be not so far off. As stated it will come when the Saquasohuh (Blue Star) Kachina dances in the plaza and removes his mask. He apparently represents a blue star, far off and as yet invisible, which will make its appearance soon. The time is foretold by a song which will be sung during the Wuwuchim ceremony. As happened just prior to both WWI & WWII.

Well I just has an intuition a few days ago which is really getting me thinking. I have studied ancient Native prophecies and have a close relationship with some of them, which is explained more fully in my book. Several have been coming true in the last few years, some will at least know of the births of rare white buffalo calf that have happened in the U.S.

comet holmes, blue star, blue star kachine, hopi prophecyIt is my belief that we may have now seen the realisation of another one of these prophecies, the 'Blue Star'. Those who have kept an eye on happenings in space will know about the comet named Holmes. The comet underwent some kind of explosion of its matter, its scale was completely unexpected and has no explanation from any quarters so far. Images of the object show that its matter continued to expand outward, and that it had become the largest object in our solar system, larger than the sun. The images beamed back to Earth show an enormous object with a bluish tinge. A blue object the size of a star.

This came so near to the day of the 19th November, the start of the final fifth night of the ancient Mayan prophetic calendars last week, a time expected to be very trying for the globe. Even normal comets are considered astrological heralds of change, often seen by our forbears as a sign of severe difficulties in themselves. If we are also seeing, as I believe, the harbinger of the time of purification then we really need to step up our game. Just so you know the time of purification is when we are supposed to focus on purifying ourselves of negativity before the start of a new era of positive global community, it is predicted to be 7 years of severe Earth changes such as severe weather, earthquakes, volcanoes, wars, floods (all happening already).

Has the Blue Katchina taken of its mask in dramatic fashion, so that all in the world can indeed see it (a comet revealing itself as blue star size object)?

The Blue Star is seen as benign, however the prophecy speaks of a Red Star that will follow later. It will be seen as the harbinger of even more radical and unpleasant changes. Planet 'X' anyone?

As an interesting aside I first published this article on the 22/11/07 and now we see it springing up on sites and Blogs around the net. Either you heard it from me first or a whole lot of us intuitives received a cosmic message at the same time. Either way it blows my mind!

[Update February 08 - I have been informed by Geoff Stray of diagnosis.co.uk that the Hopi ceremonies are still being held]

Below is a message recieved 02/05/08 from Pete Borlace on both the Blue Star & the worrying situation in Hopiland. I hope that everyone will unite in assisting the Hopi at the worrying time when we may need their wisdom most.

As it happens, I was in Arizona from November to January, doing some volunteer work with the Hopi people. I stayed in Polacca at 1st Mesa and spent time on all three Mesas. When comet Holmes appeared I was still in Phoenix and about to travel north to Hopiland. Once stationed on the reservation for a week or so, I did bring up the subject with some locals, but they hadn't heard of the comet. At present I still haven't heard anything from them regarding this.

During my time with the Hopi I was very fortunate to witness a couple of ceremonies taking place in December (not the Wuwuchim ceremony though), so I know that the ceremonies haven't come to an end yet.

I passed this info on to Geoff when I returned to the UK, and he's mentioned it during talks he's given, including the Alternative View conference last weekend.

However I did mention to him that things on the Hopi Mesas aren't looking too healthy. There's a lot of internal unrest between the locals, and the community budgets have been reduced from last years, meaning that people are going to have a real struggle getting through 2008. It's not an overstatement to say that a lot of people there live in a 3rd world state of poverty. They need help and support, so if you can raise this issue at any gatherings this year I can pass on more info.

Having spoken to quite a lot of Hopi and Tewa people, they seem to know the situation they are in and some are resigned to just getting through it. Others are more active in looking to create a more positive outcome.

Considering the economic situation in the US and the Hopis' increasing dependence on outside support, I can easily imagine a time in the next few years when the ceremonies will cease.

Oraibi (or Old Oraibi) is now a ghost village as no one lives there, save some truly hardened locals. As the prophecy states, it will be rejuvenated after the time of tribulation. I truly hope this will be possible and that the Hopi people will find their way back to a united spiritual path.

Here's looking to a positive future.

Thanks again,

Pete

BowserDuring the summer of 2007 the UK experienced unprecedented rainfall for the months of May and July. The towns of Tewkesbury, Cheltenham, Stroud and the city of Gloucester were all hit hard. This is where I happen to live, and the nature of my job meant this directly affected me.

Not only was my job greatly effected by the flooding but also I lost my water for the first time in my life, as did many others. Ladies and Gentlemen let me tell you that we do not live in a state where natural unity and ‘blitz spirit’ will see us through everything.

The reality on the ground was that civilised behaviour although the norm was rapidly decaying. There were fights in local supermarkets over produce and water bottles, people having punch-ups. The ‘Bowsers’ (a word I had to look up in a dictionary) were stationed at sites around the town and filled by water companies. The problem was that so many were quickly vandalised or worse they had bleach, or broken glass poured into them, or even human urine.

Not sure about you but that did not seam a good sign to me about what would happen if we continued to have increasing weather catastrophe in years to come. Though the flooding was relatively localised to certain areas of the country, it still had a huge impact on business and people nation-wide. At one point there were also many with no water or electricity either and dealing with flooded streets.

A debate quickly raged about whether this was a further sign of climate change and a shape of things to come. With time the standard answer for such things, mere chance, and freak events once every two hundred years simply. Some scientists remained sceptical but towed the line, and eventually the subject faded away. Of course some of us were more sceptical still, and remained convinced we were seeing a rapid climate shift in England. I am a Trinidadian-English person whom has also lived in Thailand I am familiar with tropical weather. It seems obvious to me that we now have a sub-tropical weather system over the UK the rainfall pattern is consistent with more traditionally tropical climates. Winters have now nearly faded away, snow is a rare occurrence and trees and plants left confused about the true start of spring. Then during the moderately warmer months we experience massive downpours, lets refer to those as what they are, ‘the rainy season’. There are now only the three seasons and they are much like those in sub-tropical countries. We seem to have just a ‘dry season’, a ‘hot season’, and indeed a ‘rainy season’.

Of course we must remember that the official line is that this is a freak event and will probably not happen for another 200 years. Well there is a problem with that theory, it is July 2008 (1 year later) and I am sat typing with rain tipping down outside my window. It has been raining for a couple of days straight already and looks set to continue awhile yet. Local towns are already experiencing flooding following rains of once again unprecedented amounts. It seems the BBC is saying that a month’s rain fell in a period of merely twenty-four hours.

Water Rationing    It would appear to me that it will be hard to except that this is merely a freak event any more, bearing in mind the loss of the traditional snowy English winter.

In my short lifetime climate shift has been obvious to me. It’s clear that the last decade has been extraordinary in the history of man. With a flow of such events and other radical happenings world-wide, it seems ridiculous to keep pulling out the tired lines about freak events. Tornadoes and cyclones now hit countries very hard on a very regular basis. Mexico, America, Japan, China, Bangladesh, India and other nations have all been hit by anomalous weather events on massive scales that have devastated large areas killing many hundreds of thousands of people (knowing our warped press reporting, the true figure may be in the millions).

At times I feel like I am walking in a dream world when looking at such evidence right in front of me, after years of study and my own predictions of climatic shift based on my research conclusions. These are not dozens of unconnected freak events but rather clearly are evidence of our planets changing climate, due to the same unseen hand that is perturbing our Sun and the all our fellow Sol circling planets.

The people of the UK need to wake up to the new reality that is forming itself right before there slumbering eyes. We day by day seem to sleep walk into what is clearly a dangerous cultural place, police state rules and an ignoring of evidence that our culture is about to face its greatest ever challenge. We face a world, in which it can not exist, being entirely at odds with the actual situation in the surrounding physical environment. Anyone with even a passing education can comprehend that we can’t continue to rapidly consume if there are fewer and fewer resources, and if indeed by our consuming we are speeding up a rapid climate shift event. Alongside that we continue the headlong plunge into the war on terror, a clearly eternal war as by its very nature it has no possible ending other than extinction. In a totalitarian police/military state, it becomes more and more easy for the term’s ‘citizen’ and ‘terrorist’ to blend into one. Anyone is automatically under suspicion of something, and the best way to process that type of reality is to ensure all people are monitored via all communication mediums. Ideally of course people would be chipped for easier monitoring, but it is not absolutely necessary. Powerful people have traditionally managed to control populations with far less technology than that.

Does it seem likely that a civilisation embroiled deeply in an eternal war on terror, seeking to expand its conflicts and ensure materialism and over consumption are available for all peoples of the Earth (survivors that is) will fare well in a period of climatic shift and dwindling resources?

Though I am not a 2012 doomsday theorist and utterly reject the idea of a doomsday date set by anyone, it does seem to me that we are having a rather drawn out version of one. Earthquakes, storms, ice-melt, tsunami and volcano eruptions, all seem to have become every day affairs for somewhere in the world at this time. Although quietly confident that mankind is capable of blundering through its period of greatest risk, I am also aware that we are not helping ourselves much currently and I see much strife and much fear ahead for many. Clearly I will not be outside these events, none will be in the end, as they will be more constant and global simultaneously. Possibly acompanied by a field reversal.

Climate shifts are real events, not the stuff of fantasy and fiction, the Earth’s history is dotted with them and indeed with past rapid loss of species.  We should prepare for the worst but hope for the best, which has been how humans have weathered events like the ice age and pandemic disease. All else is utter madness, a clearly suicidal tendency within a sickened culture of pure materialism.

Its still raining outside my window, I wonder when it will stop?

Mayan Ceremony In CaveTHE MAYAN DAY COUNT

The Maya always start their creation story the same. "We were made from corn".

The daily personal Cholq'ij or Tzolkin calendar is based on the human body and the numbers 13 and 20. There are 13 main joints in the body, the ankles, knees, hips, wrists, elbows and shoulders. The neck makes 13. Twenty because we have 20 fingers and toes. 13 x 20 = 260, the number of days in the calendar due to that being how long a pregnancy is for a human. 9 moons.

The Tzolkin exists because it is the flow of the intentions of the creator. When a person studies the days and the meanings with the intention of being open to receiving the flow, it comes in ways that will surprise even those that do not need to be convinced. One will begin to notice that the intention of each day offers its gifts without delay and without ever missing. It is a map of the intentions of the universe playing out in human and animal behaviour. After a few weeks of following the Tzolkin intently, a person’s life will change. They will become accustomed to the flow and the gentleness of existence will surround them. They will stop using the word coincidence. It is my belief that all the races of man once had this knowledge, but now the Maya are the only ones that have preserved it and are sharing it.

There is one man who is in charge of the day count of the calendar. He is a 13th generation Quiche Mayan High Priest. He is also the Head of the Mayan Elders as well as a Grand Elder on the Council of Elders of the Spiritual Leaders of the Americas. He is also the teacher of medicine to the new Guatemalan President as he gave him his medicine bag 10 years ago. His western name is Don Alejandro Cirilo Perez Oxlaj. His Maya name is "Wakatel Utiw", Wandering Wolf.  We now know him affectionately as Tata, which means grandfather.

I had been following the Tzolkin for about 2 months prior to suddenly finding myself in Guatemala with Don Alejandro, Elizabeth (his wife and translator) another Mayan Elder and medicine man Don Rufino, and a group of 15 fellow journeymen. As I was being led on a 12 day journey through Guatemala by these extraordinary and beautiful people, each day the flow of events was unmistakeably connected to the calendar and the meanings set forth. Some of this observance was by design but most by watching the group as well as the people and animals encountered. Many in the group did not know the days. In fact, there were only two or three that had been previously following the calendar. I watched as they were swept into the flow. It was not until the day before the conclusion of our journey that Don Simeon Takira (a Mayan Elder) taught us the original meanings of the 20 days that had been handed down orally from 6,000 BC.

The focal point of the journey was the performance of traditional ceremonies at specific sites relating to the specific days on which it is most beneficial. Ceremonies are celebrated here as they were for thousands of years in many cultures. Homage is given to the Heart of the Heavens, The Heart of the Earth, The Heart of the air, and The Heart of the Water. The ceremonial circle in which the fire is built, is made with sugar and is a circle with a cross defining the four directions.  The four directions also represent the four elements as recognized by most shamanic practices. The configuration correlates with shamanic practices from many ancient cultures including Celtic and Native American. Other things are added to the fire to make it pleasing in odour such as incense and tobacco. There are also candles of different colors associated with different intentions that are added to the fire. For example, white candles represent good intentions for the children. All this is done with a great deal of reverence and respect. It is very clear that the intention of the group is primary and the ceremony itself is a way to convey this intention. You are directly addressing your creator and all that surrounds you. This commands awareness and an ability to experience the moment.

It was a great honor to experience these ceremonies being performed by the men in our company and there are many parts of them that were very humbling and gracious. There is a connection to a group, which is greatly enhanced and built upon.

One of the ceremonies performed, was in a sacred cave on the day of 4/Aq’bal was most powerful. The cave had several large openings allowing light enough so that flashlights were only partially needed. Aq'bal is also known as "night" and is a day that can be used to ask for harmony in the home and happiness as well as asking for the essence of the Supreme Being inside the spiritual house. It is recognition that there are 12 hours of day and 12 hours of night. It was here that I personally experienced Don Alejandro's magnificence. As he baptised each of us in a sacred fountain coming from the limestone wall, there was tremendous energy. One by one, we each had to climb a short way up to the fountain and lean precariously. Each person, one by one, withdrew from the fountain after hearing his private words and receiving a personal gift of advice. Each one was brought to tears by the sheer truth and honor of his intention. Each one fully realized the enormity of the love of the creator as interpreted through the heart of one man. Our legs were wobbly and we all had to be assisted. Our hearts were filled.

After the ceremonies, we swam in the waters of the cave and emerged feeling refreshed, very much at peace and alive.

That was just a short period of one day.

That last full day of our journey was 11/ Tzi or Lobo or Dog. It is the best day for telling you how profound the meaning of the days can be. Not the most profound for me personally during the trip mind you, just the best one to tell you this way.

Mayan Fire CeremonyIt is important to know that in Guatemala the people do not tie up their dogs very much and in fact they do not "own" them very much, but they are there running the streets looking for food and playing with each other communally the way dogs do when left alone. They do not normally approach people; in fact, you will be hard pressed to get a dog to allow you to pet them. I am a huge dog lover and do very well with them but until this particular day, not one dog had I touched or fed or interacted with in any way. They avoided me.

On the day of 11/ dog, I went to the water of Lake Atitlan very early before anyone was up and sat by the water. After greeting the day by watching the huge volcano illuminate on the opposite side of the lake, I walked back to the street to find breakfast. I sat in an open door restaurant and being very early was the only one there. As soon as I finished my breakfast, a large male dog came into the place and walked right over to me. I did not reach to pet him as his tail was not wagging but instead I poured some cream from the table on my nearly empty plate of pancakes and handed it to him. He lapped it up with gratitude until the owner saw him and chased him out. I thought it very natural as each day things of this nature happened corresponding with the calendar. But I did not know it was just beginning.

We finished our first half of the day with a lesson from Don Simeon (A Mayan elder specializing in the meaning of the days) and broke for lunch. A friend and I needed to go to the ATM so we went a short way across town to do so and stopped at another open door restaurant for lunch. Again, just as we were nearly done, a female dog who was obviously nursing pups and emaciated walked uncharacteristically into the restaurant and right up to our table. We of course loaded a plate of food and placed it on the floor for her and she ate quickly to finish just in time to be evicted. The owner was not pleased with us for doing this, but we apologized and left.

After finishing the afternoon lesson, we all broke out into the courtyard of the hotel and mingled there for some time. I was sitting on a bench talking to some folks when a beautiful black medium sized dog came right up to me and began playing with me and gently biting my hand. At the time, I didn't realize it but I was very happy to see this dog and we instantly became inseparable. That dog stayed with me the entire night and waited outside whenever I went indoors then rejoined the end of journey party we were having. I last saw him around 3 am when I finally retired to bed. In the morning, I had forgotten all about him until I boarded my plane later that afternoon. As soon as we were in the air, I was overwhelmed with a tremendous feeling of loss regarding my new friend. I had lost good dogs in the past and it was always hard, but after one day ? The very minimum I can say about the encounter is that it was no coincidence. I still miss that dog.

It is very important for people to realize the day. During this time, we are all concerned about the future and time is speeding up quite rapidly. It is better to relax and focus on each day than to get swept up into the breakneck pace of the rat race. Especially now, I see many people with much anxiety and trepidation about the future. I would encourage them to use knowledge we have been given and stay focused on the day at hand. This way, the future is much simpler to sort out.

Pi Crop CircleNow, I have never been a huge enthusiast of the crop circle phenomena. Mayans, 2012, supernatural and psychic phenomona are more my bag.

But something caught my attention about the latest design found in an English field. It represents a degree of accuracy mathematically that it was only recognised by an astrophysicist that spotted the image. Somehow, our board-wielding friends supposedly managed to stomp down a field into a design that takes Pi to the tenth decimal place accurately.  It does not sit well with my past scepticism. This is a feat that mathematicians are finding absolutely incredible, it beggars belief that a few artists made this with boards or other simple techniques.

Now, I have myself had the opportunity to meet self-confessed crop circle creators from the well-known site 'circlemakers.org' some years ago now. We ended up sat at the same table after a book launch for Breaking Open the Head, Daniel Pinchbeck’s first book. At the table was also as I recall, a nice man from 'redicecreations.com' whom joined in the conversation about crop circles. It may be clear already that I am a very open-minded person. I will give any fringe research topic a period of consideration, and investigation. That said one person from the crop circle group was pretty close-minded about there being any other possibility than human hands at work. She dismissed things that I personally know to be factual based on direct experience, not theory. As such, I was wary of her conclusions about the makers of circles. Her claim, echoed by her friend and fellow group member, was that all the big circles are known to be fakes inside of the secretive world of crop-circle manufacture. Though she admitted that some circles did have unknown authorship. Actually, crop circles, and their cousin, ice circles, have been around for at least several hundred years.

Despite my distaste for elements of the opinions expressed by the circle makers, I was of a mind to mostly agree. It does seem to me likely that regular people do most of the incredible designs seen in fields. It is the tiny minority though that keeps me open to the possibility I am wrong. That maybe these circles are very important images for our cultural consciousness. I admit that I do not find the idea of manifestations of supernormal forces in fields, or anywhere else, as being unlikely. For in my view it is possible that mind may draw these patterns, whether human minds or alien minds. Perhaps somehow symbols or profound wisdom expresses itself onto physical matter by our cumulative energy.

ASCII Alien DiskNot so long ago an image near the Chilbolton astronomical observatory drew my attention and indeed that of a section of the world’s media. The use of encoding messages in ASCII binary code was new, and showed a high degree of technical accuracy from the maker of the design. Once again, it was hard to see how a few people in the middle of the night could do this. Even with the high tech help, they get from GPS and laser measuring devices. It did seem however rather unlikely to be from an Alien. I think that ironically sending a picture of an alien face is the least likely way for an alien to make successful contact. It just screams fake, yet at the same time the shocking accuracy makes us wonder if this is more than what we want to believe about it. Once again I do not assume it must be aliens, both mind powers and Earth energies are still to factored in, as well as the seemingly remote possibility of a few circle makers being responsible.

With all the weirdness going on as we head towards, and indeed beyond, the year 2012 we must stay open. I will not quickly write off any source of weird data. After all interesting connections with the Mayan Calendar and its end date have shown up in fields before. Well these has got to be the weirdest crop-circle yet discovered on our fair shores, and we get most of the weirdest ones here in the South West of England where I reside. At this point, I will add that I have seen on several occasions Unidentified Flying Objects in the skies over this region. I have no doubt that there are weird things flying above our heads. For doubters please view some of the many STS NASA space mission video feeds, these show at times dozens of UFO being filmed and discussed by both the astronauts and ground crews. Certainly, I cannot ignore a possible link between objects seen in this regions skies and the fact we have many weird patterns appearing in the crops grown locally.

So have the aliens contacted us?

Is the global mind drawing pictures in cereal?

On the other hand, do we have the best crop artist in the world on the loose?

I cannot of course answer for sure, but this circle makes me think it may turn out to be a whole lot weirder than all of those possibilities!!! For my money, this is just to complex to be someone’s idea of a clever joke in the middle of the night.
.
Toto, we are definitely not in Kansas anymore.

2012 The Return Of Quetzalcoatl2012 - The Year Of The Mayan Prophecy

In 2006 the counter culture aficionado, Daniel Pinchbeck, released his second book but first devoted to the subject of 2012. Daniel Pinchbeck has become something of a 2012 media favourite since the launch of the book, partly because of his background as a respected journalist. He has also drawn plentiful attention because of his links to the always controversial and inflammative subjects of drug use and alternative sexual thought paradigms.

In Daniel’s first book Breaking Open The Head - A Visionary Journey From Cynicism To Shamanism he boldly engaged with the neo-shamanic and indeed genuine archaic shamanistic communities of the world. It described the way in which a rather morbidly cynical ‘thirty something’ New Yorker managed to leave his materialist and nihilistic paradigm for something rather more cosmic. Rather more pleasant for that matter.

Although the book does not discuss 2012 in any depth, only briefly touching on the subject during chapter 32 whilst Pinchbeck is visiting a Mayan site, it does clarify just how a respectable journalist ended up cashing in his normality for the weirder life of a 2012 researcher and writer. The short version is that Pinchbeck took a great deal of very strong chemicals and had his head well and truly broken open. The realisation that the mind is perfectly capable of phasing out day to day reality, and then perceiving entire new landscapes with non-human beings capable of interacting with us, left him in a whole new place spiritually and philosophically.

Although the second book was originally released in the USA as 2012 The Return Of Quetzalcoatl the UK edition was released under the title 2012 - The Year Of The Mayan Prophecy. The name change was quite simply because practically nobody in the UK was aware of the 2012 subject, and even fewer would have any idea just what a Quetzalcoatl might be!!!

The book opens with an introduction of the issues that are to be tackled, mainly the current state of our modern global civilisation, such as peak-oil and biosphere issues. Rather we might say it examines the cracks, and the rot that has set in throughout what is actually now a post-modern, civilisation. It then moves on to Daniel’s own life from childhood onward, and an introduction to some of the people that have inspired him. To be honest I found the early part of the book very heavy going, mainly because the people that inspire Daniel are obscure, peculiar, and rather over wordy in their philosophical ramblings. On the other hand, perhaps I am just a moron unable to comprehend the gist of their esoteric thinking.

There are however plenty of gems even from the start. I enjoyed the discussions on scientific research into etheogens, and the analysis of military research into psychic abilities. Some of the thinkers he referred to were intelligible to me thankfully, and he produced some interesting references from them. The end of the first chapter has us brought up to speed a little regarding the God whose name is in the books original title. We find out something of his achievements and his enemies, as well as his considered nature. The links between Quetzalcoatl and that other 2012 writer, Jose Arguelles, father of the 13-month calendar are also touched on.

For the main part, this book is rather like a strange attractor, a hub of 2012 related people, books and thinking. It tends to skip around at times, slightly unpredictably, and refer to persons or topics that need to be investigated deeper. My advice would be to keep your PC connected to the net whilst reading; you are likely going to need to Google more than once during reading.  There are far to many areas touched upon for me to list here, although its fair to say most anything, or anyone connected to the 2012 subject appears at least once!

Where this book holds its own as definitive on a 2012 related subject must surely be on the subjects of aliens and of crop-circles. Indeed, it becomes clear that these geometric cereal phenomena are of enormous interest to Daniel Pinchbeck. He travels extensively interviewing relevant speakers on the subject as well as bringing forth some interesting scientific and mathematical observations regarding these formations. Some of these formations are related to 2012 data, and seemingly, some of the apparent E.T. phenomena are tied up to the subject of changes in our time on a world scale. He also does a good job of bringing attention to the links between alien behaviour, fairies and shamanic experiences in indigenous communities. The book goes to pains to relate much of it back to crop circles.

Personally, though I appreciate why crop-circles interest people, and except they may well be very important messages to humanity, I actually find them boring. For me the book has too much information about them in it. For those familiar with Graham Hancock’s book Supernatural all I can say is remember how much Hancock talked about cave paintings, well that is how much Daniel Pinchbeck goes on about crop-circles. I am however in a small minority regarding this subject, so I feel most people will really enjoy the attention Daniel has lavished on this particular topic. Sales of crop-circle books and pictures speak for themselves.

Breaking Open The HeadThe book takes us on a great tour of the modern alternative communities and various camps of metaphysical thought. Amongst these is the Santo Daime whom utilise the compound DMT for unification with spiritual forces. Pinchbeck has something of a love affair with the religion, and perhaps more so with one of its priestess’s. It is a very eye opening whistle-stop tour of just one of the groups that are currently tied up into the whole 2012 planetary shift business.

We are also taken through subjects more related to possible socio-psychological shifts everything from the way we think about work to the way we view our roles. He explores in some considerable depth sexual attitudes and the way we evaluate our more sensual relationships. Perhaps to honestly much of this is in the context of his own failing relationship, and his own desires. Still it is interesting to look through another’s eyes at this deep subject, and to be made to consider whether a change in society would mean change in such fundamentals as the way we view relationships and run them. Daniel also observes matters of sexual inequality in a rather non-politically correct manner.

There is much to be gleaned from this book, New Age thought, crop circles, and 2012 peer reviews, aliens, burning man, visions, etheogens, Buddhism and environmental collapse.  It is not so much a book about 2012 as it is a book about the now flourishing counter-cultural revolution, and the rise of a new paradigm of thought. The round calendar of the Mayans and its 2012 end date merely are the hub upon which the books wheels spin. The most notable original data in it comes from Daniel’s own channelling of the God Quetzalcoatl whilst in an altered state of consciousness; I will not spoil it by telling you what he had to say about 2012.

For my part, I enjoyed the book even though I admit that at times it was a struggle to keep it flowing into my brain box. This is not an introduction to the 2012 subject however, and would be most appropriate for those who already understand just why the 2012 subject is being discussed. It would help to have fully comprehended the astronomic mechanics and cultural history behind the Meso-American calendar systems before reading. This book is rather like an intellectual joyride through post-modern culture, all the while sticking its finger up to ‘The Man’ out of the window whilst hollering, “2012 m**********r!!!”, as it speeds along.

Check out some of the now over 100 reviews on Amazon before buying this book to get a feel for the passion it ignites in people. It is on my recommended 2012 book list, and I hope you enjoy reading it despite its aforementioned flaws.

On a personal note Daniel seems like a nice and genuine man, I had the pleasure of talking to him over dinner after his 2002 launch of Breaking Open The Head in London. He is without doubt a very intelligent man that may at times be his undoing, simply because many of us are just perhaps not quite clever enough to follow his train of thinking at times. For a past article that perhaps gives away more of his thinking on 2012 topics such as ascension, I would recommend his interview in Fortean Times magazine by Mark Pilkington of Strange Attractor. If however you would rather find out what he is doing currently then simply visit him over at the Reality Sandwich website.
